Clarkson is in the southwest of Mississauga's borders and is right on Lake Ontario. It is right beside Oakville and surrounded by Lorne Park, Erindale, and Erin Mills. The history of this section of the city dates back to the beginning of the 19th century and there is still a historic feel in this neighbourhood. Mississauga neighbourhoods
Streetsville is in the northwest and surrounds the Credit River. This is known as sort of the cultural centre of the city and is where you will find the annual Mississauga Santa Clause Parade and the Bread and Honey Festival. The real estate for sale in this section of the city is a combination between modern condos and family-oriented homes. This is an area that is still very much trying to keep its small-town charm on the main streets.
Port Credit is also along the water and there is a big focus on tourism and community in this neighbourhood. This is known as the Village on the Lake and there are several shops and homes right along the Lakefront. This is a place where you can find day spas, homes, and some of the best restaurants in the city. There is also the Waterfront Festival in June and the Southside Shuffle Jazz Festival. If you're someone who loves city life but still wants to feel connected to the outdoors than you can take advantage of Waterfront Trail, which runs through Port Credit. This is even a great spot for those that are trying to get more for their money with their mortgage and need to commute into downtown Toronto by car or train every day.
